​Literacy​

To start off this half term we will be looking at the story "Stone Age Boy" this will link into our topic sessions.

​​We will be concentrating on our punctuation and sentence structure as well as writing, speech, instructions and diaries relating to this book.

Our class text for the term is "Charlotte's Web". We will be discussing persuasive techniques, character profiles and much more. I am very excited to use this book as it will be their first full class text!

This half term we will be looking at partitioning using place value, column addition with carrying and column subtraction with exchanging.

The expectation at the end of year 3 is that children will know their 3,4 and 8 times table, as well as their 2, 5 and 10 learnt in year 2.

 

 


 

Topic

 
Our topic this half term is the Stone Age.
We will be finding out about what life was like, their tools, houses and how the time periods differ.

In science this half term we will be looking at Rocks. Learning how they are formed and the differences between each group.

PE

 

As of the week beginning the 21st September Year 3 will have their PE sessions every Tuesday. Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their PE kit.

Home Learning

In the event of a school closure due to Covid 19, learning resources for Year 3 will be posted in this section of the class page.  This will include a weekly overview of the subjects to be covered with supporting resources for the children to complete.
